The Axon
A personal archive of long-form research at the intersection of neuroscience and endocrinology — rigorous ideas, written with care.
The intent
The Axon exists to close the gap between rigorous scientific inquiry and clear, unhurried writing. The deepest ideas in biology deserve to be communicated with the same precision and care with which they were discovered.
Each paper is written to stand on its own — no prior knowledge assumed, no jargon left unexplained. The aim is to map the architecture of complex systems so a careful reader can find their footing in unfamiliar terrain.
The taxonomy
Two fields, each a distinct signalling system of the body:
- Neurology — mapping the architecture of the mind.
- Endocrinology — the chemical language of the body.
The name
An axon is the output fibre of a neuron — it carries the signal outward. That is what this archive does.
Knowledge is not meant to be hoarded behind paywalls or diluted into listicles. The Axon is a return to long-form thinking — papers that reward patience, and reward re-reading.
