Synthesizing recent neuroscientific and epidemiological evidence—including longitudinal fMRI, meta-analytic, and detox-intervention studies—it acknowledges unresolved questions of causal directionality while positioning social media as at minimum a powerful accelerant of adolescent mental health decline.
